June Ellis

1941 – 2026

“Your roses came back up this spring, right where you said they would.”

Her story

June Ellis spent eighty-five years making the people around her feel at home. She grew roses along the fence that the whole street slowed down to look at, put up peach preserves every August, and sang along with the kitchen radio like she was twenty-one.

She raised three children, spoiled seven grandchildren, and taught every one of them how to roll a pie crust and how to hold their tongue. Her apron still hangs by the back door.
